Golden Russet® Bosc Pear Tree – Atlantic Canada
Requires a pollinator of a different pear variety for fruit production
The Golden Russet® Bosc Pear Tree is a distinctive sport of the classic Bosc pear, prized for its elegant shape, rich flavor, and vigorous growth. Well suited for growers in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick, this variety produces high-quality fruit and performs reliably in cooler climates.
Golden Russet® Bosc pears are long and symmetrical, with a beautiful, uniform golden russet skin that gives the fruit its signature appearance. Inside, the flesh is yellowish-white, fine-textured, and flavorful. The fruit ripens around the same time as Anjou, making it an excellent mid- to late-season pear for extending the harvest.
The trees are large and vigorous, developing into strong, productive specimens well suited for home orchards. When planted with a compatible pear pollinator, Golden Russet® Bosc produces dependable crops of premium pears that are excellent for fresh eating, baking, and cooking.
